Following the success of NFL Blitz, the hockey world got to experience Midway's hard hitting, bone crunching take on the earth's coolest (and fastest) team sport... NHL Hitz made quite an impact when it was released in 2001. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this game, and it more than met my expectations.
With a predator like Scott Stevens on the cover, you'd better do up your chinstrap, cuz you know it's gonna get rough.

NHL Hitz 2003
(GameCube, PS2, X-Box)I never actually played NHL Hitz 2003 (released in 2002). But with a thug like Chris Pronger on the box, I can imagine the game is just as badass as its' predecessor.
NHL Hitz Pro
(GameCube, PS2, X-Box)The following year (2003) saw the final installment of the series, NHL Hitz Pro. I spent a lot of time with the original NHL Hitz, so it's the one that's most memorable for me. But NHL Hitz Pro seemed like the superior game...The player animations and feel is a tad more "realistic", and just a bit less "arcade-like". It depends what you're looking for, but with different variety of play modes in each game, I kinda like 'em both.
