WTF Hockey Card: Mario Lemieux / George H.W. Bush (1991-92 Upper Deck #47)

This hockey card commemorates the Pittsburgh Penguins' visit to the White House in 1991.
Glad I don't own this card... It would probably depreciate the value of my entire collection.
[EDIT: Have since acquired this card to complete the 700 card Upper Deck set]

Mario Lemieux / George Bush
1991-92 Upper Deck #47

The only interesting tidbit off the back of the card is that President Bush was presented with
"...a Penguins jersey bearing number two, the number Bush wore when he played first base for Yale University..."
(Normally the President is given a team jersey with bearing the year the team won the Stanley Cup championship.)

In sequential order within the set, this card is found among several rookie cards... (Card numbers 46-52)
So it's my guess that this card (#47) was originally intended to feature a young rookie, but for whatever reason, they had to come up with filler like this.

In addition to it being out of place within the set, Mario Lemieux was featured two cards earlier on card #45 (50 goals in 50 games club) with Wayne Gretzky and Brett Hull.

Any card that features a politician automatically becomes one of the worst cards ever made...

"Worst hockey card ever."
