Number 38

Cristobal Huet

Happened to notice that goaltender Cristobal Huet wore number 38 for a couple seasons. Hadn't seen many netminders actually don this number, even though it's within the traditional range (27-41).

Huet wore number 35 with LA, 39 with Montreal, and 38 with Washington and Chicago. Cristobal Huet then switched to number 39, which had previously been occupied by Nikolai Khabiboulin. (Incidentally, Khabiboulin wore 35 for most of his career - But the Hawks had retired Tony Esposito's number 35).

Unlike many NHL goaltenders, Huet finished his career with a winning record (129 wins, 90 losses, 32 ties).

Played only 13 regular season games for the Caps, with very impressive stat: 11 wins, 2 losses.
