When did this happen?
McSorley had actually been a member of the Penguins to start the 1993-94 season.
He was re-acquired by the LA Kings on February 15, 1994.
In the snapshot, he's battling with fellow tough guy Jim McKenzie (number 33 for the Pittsburgh Penguins).
The Kings and Penguins did not play at all during the 48-game 1994-95 season...
And during that season, regular Kings' Captain Wayne Gretzky played every single game.
According to hockey-reference.com, the only other players to serve as Captain of the Los Angeles Kings during the early-mid 1990s were Luc Robitaille and Rob Blake.
Previous meetings between these teams occurred in 1993 before Pittsburgh even acquired McKenzie.

Jim McKenzie joined the Pens on March 21, 1994. This was partway through the 1993-94 season (in which he played 11 games). McKenzie also played 39 games for Pittsburgh during the lockout-shortened 1994-95 season.
It's possible (although unlikely) that the Penguins and Kings played a pre-season game after the lockout ended...
